Mary's process begins with heavy cotton paper, allowing multiple transparent glazes to build depth and light. Each stroke captures the subtle interplay of water and pigment, revealing the quiet warmth within her subjects.

Working in natural studio light, she carefully layers washes to achieve the luminous quality characteristic of her work, inviting viewers into a contemplative experience.

Through the process of painting, I rediscover details in nature all over again. Sometimes I feel like the canvas comes alive through the dance of water and pigment.
