ENCHANTING SEASIDE VILLAGE
Wouldn’t you love to live in a village by the sea? I always think that when i am visiting one of these special places. This was from a photo that another artist brought to an art class I took. The original photo was apparently taken in Norway and was fairly ‘dull’ to look at. So the artist teaching the class changed the scene somewhat and the colors. I did my first drawing and painting based on what he suggested. I never was happy with my effort. So I redid this at least 3 more times before I was finally satisfied with my redrawn composition and paint colors - houses, sky and sea. I found it challenging and learned a lot. I thought of Monet and how many times he painted his Garden in Giverny, France. As part of this effort, I knew I wanted to give a much warmer feeling as if it was on one of the islands in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.
